"Lovely staff make it much less daunting!"

About: Lister Hospital

Anything else?

I went into A&E on the 11th march with abdominal pain in my right side, it wasnt to busy but from previous experience getting through A&E can take a long time, obviously due to emergencies coming in etc its to be expected, I saw the triage news very quickly and within 45 minutes I was through to see a doctor, so quickly which I was very impressed with, especially since I was alone and in a lot of pain. I was put onto bed in the A&E ward and assesed, the doctor was lovely and very caring to me, it was scary to not know what it wrong when your alone. She then told me they would get me pain killers and carry out further tests, when I said I was uncomfortable sitting up she made sure she got me into a bed as I was also very dizzy. I ended up staying 4 days and having my appendix out, cannot speak highly enough of the nurses who looked after me they were all lovely, wasnt to keen on some of the doctors when I was ready to go home but it was only a minor negative on my stay! Thank you to the lovely staff you made my stay a lot easier!

Sounds like this was one of the cases where the E in emergency really came to the fore! Glad to hear that everything worked out so well for you in terms of both the high quality care you received, but also the compassionate and caring nature of that care. We know that our A&E, surgical and ward colleagues at the Lister will say it's what they aim to provide for everyone, but nonetheless we also know they'll be delighted to read your kind words. So may we wish you well for the future and many thanks again for the feedback.
