"Care in NHS and the community"

About: Leeds General Infirmary Specialist services / Musculoskeletal and rehabilitation service

(as the patient),

In October 2011 I sustained 18 broken bones including my neck, many vertebrae in my back, 5 ribs and my hand following a fall from my bike. I spent 2 and a half weeks in the LGI then 12 weeks recuperating with a full back & neck brace to keep me upright. I feel care in the community could be improved.

Thank you for responding. I will be in touch as I have had no come back from the hospital regarding the non existent care plan after being sent out of there as soon as I could walk to the door! I had no care in the community and my husband had to take 2 months off work in order to look after my daily needs. This could I now understand have been dealt with by the community team. The information given and lack of care by majority of the staff at the LGI was poor to say the least and to then not be passed on is disgraceful.
