"Doctors shocking attitude"

About: Newark Hospital

Anything else?

On Sunday the 24th march we took our son to Newark hospital and was initially seen by two ladies, one nurse and one trainee who were lovely. However, I wish the same could be said for the doctor who's bedside manner was appalling to say the least. He was the duty doctor and was very rude and aggressive in his manner. He mis-diagnosed my son and when questioned about my concerns he became very loud and confrontational sighting 'I am the doctor I am right' I tried to discuss the issues I had, only to be spoken over by the said doctor who kept repeating 'i am the doctor!' he wasn't pre-pared to discuss anything with us judging by his attitude, which even the nurse seemed mortified by. In the end I walked out in tears feeling like I was in the wrong by attending hospital with my 6 month old baby who has since been looked at and been re-diagnosed.Something which this doctor clearly missed resulting in two courses of antibiotics, leading to my son further suffering. Appalling breakdown of trust between healthcare provider and patient. No wonder the hospital is having so much bad publicity!
