Anything else?
I was petrified of my procedure and I hadn't even seen my consultant until the day of the procedure. My operation had been cancelled twice and I had been on the list since August 2012. Upon arrival I was put at ease straight away by the nurse who picked up on my fear. Both surgeon and anaesthetist were very informative and understanding and listened to questions and answered them in detail. The theatre staff were very good and cheery and reassuring which put me at much more ease. I was fully satisfied with the operation. I was however very surprised to find that the nurses were not able to help me move and when I reached out they moved away as if I had a disease. There was some un organisation on the ward and nurses seemed to work long hours, the majority of them were very nice and caring. Food - rubbish but didn't expect anything else. Sleep very limited because of noise but again didn't expect anything else. No help with showering but I was ok. Did see phisio 2 days. Cleaning again as expected and no major concerns. Infection control A*. All in all I am satisfied with my experience and would recommend anyone to not worry about their stay. I am sure no one can be as worried as I was.
