"MRSA"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

Anything else?

If there have been no outbreaks of MRSA how was my wife discharged from ward 2 with an infection of MRSA.

Are the figures false?

Thank you for taking the time to comment on this website. The nurse lead for Infection Control and Prevention has explained that individuals can be identified as having MRSA which is not linked to an outbreak. An outbreak is generally when there is an increase in incidents that are linked in a specific area. MRSA figures at East Cheshire NHS Trust are reported accurately in line with the NHS England requirements. I hope your wife has recovered from her stay in hospital and if you require any further information please contact the Customer Care Team on 01625 661449 or e-mail at ecn-tr.CustomerCareService.nhs.net
