"Replacement Hearing Aid"

About: Kidderminster Hospital

Anything else?

I had a hearing aid supplied on the NHS in December 2009, I was last at the hospital most recently in January 2013 to have flexible pipe fitted which they did. The lady said I needed a new hearing aid and a new mould to be taken. She told me to contact them around June or July. In the mean time around the first week of March I was shopping in town and unknown to me my hearing aid had fallen out of my ear. I contacted the police and they advised me to see if it had been handed in which it had not so I contacted the hospital to see if I could have a replacement and they said they couldn’t supply one and said I needed to pay £100 to have a new one. I explained to them that I think the mould wasn't fitted properly hence it falling out and it was due to be replaced anyway, now I’m without a hearing aid.

I can’t afford to pay £100 and they are not prepared to supply me with another one so I’m now without a hearing aid.
