In April 2011 I suffered a brain haemorrhage at home. My daughter called my husband at work who then called an ambulance. The staff at the ambulance station called my daughter and were able to reassure her. They were fantastic. Even going as far as to check she was ok with my newborn baby.
I was taken initially to Stirling then Glasgow southern general for various scans. I was put into the high dependency ward to await brain surgery. I cannot remember much about this but my husband says the nurses doctors and everyone else were outstanding in their helpfulness and were very accommodating to him. Following my surgery, I was transferred to intensive care and again could not fault any member of staff. Nothing was too much trouble.
When I was able to start learning to walk again, the nurses made sure that everything was there for you to aid this.
The only downside I would say was the evening meal as sometimes this was cold and most days I could not eat it but the staff always asked if I wanted something else.
I could not say anything negative about the nurses or doctors at all
