"comunication between departments"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Anything else?

im sorry but i have just buried a very close friend of mine. she was being treated for cancer at the hospital. i went with her to all her appointments. we found that one department didnt know what the other was doing. she was operated on and a hole was left in her bladder. she was told to clean her own vomit up on one occasion. she was given chemo and then left for months before anything else was suggested. she was constantly in pain [ never out of it] they never got her pain under control. everytime i took her in, we were asked what the problem was, even though her file was the thicknesss of a yellow pages. on one visit to a and e she was given an injection of tramadole after we told them it made her violantly sick, and yes she was violontly sick.she was only given a final scan after a consultant from christies stepped in and voiced his dissatisfaction at the treatment she was receving. there dosent seem to be many really experienced people there, the hospital looks as though it is ran by anyone under 25. they promised my friend she would have quality of life, she ended up having 12 months of hell. she grew to hate the hospital. at least now shes at peace. good hospital, idont think so. mr ian mitchell.
