"patients mental well being"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Anything else?

There is absolutely nothing for in patients to do all day. They do not have any television to watch and as such are extremely isolated as most are single rooms.

No one comes round with newspapers or magazines so unless the patient asks a very busy nurse to go and get one they sit there staring at the walls all day. Not everyone in hospital is mobile and can go and get there own.

This issue needs to be addressed. It is disgusting that in a brand new hospital the televisions don't work. Its not as if they are free, patients have to pay anyway. I understand that the company went bankrupt that supplied the service but why can't it be replaced by someone else. This was the case last year when I was in hospital on several occasions and lo and behold it is still the case today when I have been to visit someone else.

Absolutely shocking.

Please be assured that that the equipment supplier has not gone bankrupt. There has been an issue with some TV's not working properly, however these are now being resolved. With regard to newspapers, there is a branch of WH Smith in the hospital atrium.
