"My experience of the NHS in action on the Isle of Skye"

About: Lochaber (Belford) Hospital / General Medicine Mackinnon Memorial Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

My experience of the NHS in Skye

I recently had the occasion to use the NHS in action. I had a same day appointment at the health centre in Portree and was then referred to the Broadford Hospital.

I was seen straight away, two scans were ordered one was performed in Broadford and one at the Belford in Fort William within the week.

This would have taken at least three to four weeks in the city. The NHS in Skye is in very safe hands. The Doctors at Broadford were first class, they called me on different occasions making sure that I had the correct information regarding scan results etc.

Many thanks to all concerned

Dear Kirsteen

Thank you so much for taking the time to feed-back. I am glad you are happy with your care and how communications were handled. Waiting for results is always an anxious time and so the quicker this can be communicated the better. One of the things NHS Highland is really working hard at is our committment to continuous improvement. We can always do better and we can always learn from feed-back. If there is anything at all you want to let us know about in terms of your recent care please do get in touch with me at maimie.thompson@nhs.net.

I have shared your feed-back with colleagues. Getting positive feed-back also boosts staff morale and I know they will appreciate your kind reflections. Thank you
