"GP Appointment"

About: NHS Borders

(as a parent/guardian),

my son attended his GP as he has recurring tonsislitis and was hospitalised with this condition last year. His tonsils flared up again and an apointment was made with the GP who had seen him previously. The GP was very dismissive and said that my son should register in the city where he is attending university. He said that he should register with a practice and be referred to ear, nose and throat there and that there was nothing he could do for him and sent him on his way

Dear Lemon Meringue

I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with your Son’s appointment with his GP. All GP practices have their own complaints and feedback procedures. In the first instance you should contact the practice manager. If you are not sure who the practice manager is, or need any further assistance please contact me on 01896 826706.

Best wishes,

Stephen Bermingham, NHS Borders
