Medical and physiotherapy attention was very good..
I found the food mediocre.
Discharge was poor. From the time I was told that I could go home there was a 3 hour hour delay which was blamed on a heavy work load. Eventually I started to walk to the car after knee surgery on crutches because the promised wheelchair was not brought.
I have a serious question about the treatment charges . My operation should have been fully covered by my insurance but in fact I have had to pay £2600 above my £12500 insurance cover. In addition to the specialists' and physiotherapy fees I was billed for an un-detailed £12,800 "hospital treatment fees" to cover a 4 night stay. This seems to be a little over the top. My final bill will come to at least £15100 but their website quotes "from £9800" for the total "self pay" cost of the treatment (including specialsts and physio) and this is in line with estimate I received before arranging the treatment and with estimates from other hospitals. I had no complications. Several days ago I asked for an explanation online and by letter but I have not yet received a response.
"Could do better"
