"Mending my father in law."

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Trauma & Orthopaedics (Wards 1 & 5)

(as a relative),

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to the staff at Hairmyres Hospital for two episodes of sorting out my father in law after falls at his home over the last couple of years.

The first fall was the worst when he had a fractured shoulder and he needed major surgery and a long programme of rehab and physio. The surgeon, nursing staff and physio made sure that he was well informed about what he should do, they needed to lay the law down a bit to him but they did so in a nice way. There was the added complication of him being on warfarin so needed to be careful re the risks involved of blood clots.

And again with a second more recent fall not quite as bad, his care was very good and reassuring both for his wife and for me and my wife who live some way away.
