Posted elsewhere as well: I felt the need to complain because of the way my grandad is being treated in hospital (he is a cancer patient) The staff and nurses are very rude and sarcastic, one spoke to me rudely on the phone even though they knew my age and knew I was scared and worried about my grandad. (I was home alone and no one was answering any calls) repeatedly hung up on me and no phones were answers of multiple times of trying. I can't even explain the anger I am in with this hospitals behaviour and care.

My grandad hasn't been offered or changed into a clean gown and is still wearing a gown covered in blood from an operation days ago! They speak to him rudely on multiple occasions, shout and act sarcastically. None of them have been trained good enough and many don't even know how to do their job properly!! My nurse put in a drip into his arm and did it wrong, and hour lately his arm had swelled double the size, and then multiple nurses struggled to even find a vein!! I feel like I know more than these nurses!

Ever since my grandad has been admitted to this hospital, he has gotten so much worse. He has been in there for 4 weeks now, he didn't speak to any doctors to roughly 2 weeks after he had been there, last night was a shock because of another operation that nearly went wrong! Not only this, they couldn't even be bothered to check the records before they went into a serious surgery. My grandads had cancer twice and the last time he had it was in his throat, the doctors said they had a really hard time getting the tube down his throat and it was a life or death situation. Well perhaps they should of checked the records of actually listened when they was told he has had cancer of the throat twice!!!!!!!

I can't even explain how disgusted I am, I feel worried for my grandads health, I feel as though I could do a better job then some of these rude and ignorant nurses, Im scared for his life because they don't know what they are doing and he is a very ill man!!!!! Something needs to change about this stupid health care system at Farnborough hospital, there are many other issues that have occurred since he's been at this hospital and it needs to change!!!

I am very sorry to hear of your grandad's poor experience at the trust. There are obviously a number of issues which need to be addressed, including his on-going care and treatment. I would therefore urge you to ask to speak to the Matron in charge of the ward who will be able to talk to you and look into your grandad's treatment. If you would prefer, you can also contact our PALs department who will be ensure that the issues you have raised are picked up with staff. You can contact them on Tel: 01689 863252 or Email: slh-tr.br-pals@nhs.net Please do contact the trust direct, especially if your grandad is still on the wards - unfortunately as there is not enough information in your post to identify which ward he is on, there is little we can do via NHS Choices. The ward Matron, or the PALs team, will be in a better position to ensure that his on-going care is of a standard that you should be able to expect from the trust. They will also be able to investigate what has happened, and if you wish, register a formal complaint on your behalf.
