"Trying to get help for my mother"

About: NHS Direct NHS Trust / NHS 111 Oxfordshire PCT / District nursing

(as a relative),

My mother who is 78 became ill with a chest infection and then developed a very swollen foot and could not walk or weight bear. For over a week we tried to get her help.

The 111 service was poor. Different drs failed to treat her or ring back when they said they would. I had to repeatedly ring to ask for help.

We just needed a commode or wheel chair to get her to the loo and shower. District nurses don't do care apparently, they do assessments and then get people to drop off stuff.

Drs don't nurse care people? Nurses don't do it, so who does? "Oh, sounds like you need OT". Another form.

Meanwhile mum still in bed waiting for a clot or sores. It's not gout, said call out dr, yes it is says blood test which gets taken a week later. Not impressed.
