Recently had surgery and stayed in 7North for 5 days, as a qualified nurse i believe we can make the worst patients, how ever I could not ask for a better service from all ward staff not just the nursing team , how ever they outstood any team which I have ever encountered before , I was shown upper most respect, nothing was made to feel like a chore, I needed regular PRN Analgesia and each and every time regardless of day and night they responded with a smile.

My partner whom was on nighty duty in his job could only visit at certain times and the nurses allowed him to remain after the visiting time when my bay of 4 beds was soley just me.

During the night when another lady was admitted the nurses kept the noise to a minimum and even apologised for any noise they may have made.

The ward hygiene was 100% , the bathroom was cleaned on a regular basis.

Not once throughout my stay did I explain I was a nurse so i know these nurses were being nurses from the heart and not because we are in the same profession, only on my last night did I ask for PRN and the nurse asked was I a Nurse as I asked for PRN using medical terminology. Daily my allocated Nurse introduced themselves and made them self present in the bay, even on the day they were clearly short staffed and under alot of pressure they still remained professional.

Well done 7North it was a pleasure to be nursed and cared for by such an outstanding team! I will be returning for surgery in November and my request will be put me back on 7North!!
