I was brought in to A & E by the paramedics around 3pm with chest pains. I only had about a 5 minute wait before being assessed. Although I was asked to wait in the waiting room, I was not forgotten. I only had a few minutes wait between seeing someone for a blood test, seeing doctor and having an x-ray. I had to wait about half an hour for the blood test results and the doctor then came to see me to tell me I needed to be kept in for observation and they were going to find me a bed. I waited about an hour and just as I thought they had forgotten me, a nurse called me to her office to tell me they hadn't forgotten me and they were still finding me a bed. A few minutes later, I was put in one of their cubicles and then I was found a bed in the Assessment Unit. All in all, it took about three and a half hours from the time I was brought in to the hospital to the time I was found a bed. Very excellent service indeed and all staff were extremely kind and caring. Well done Broomfield A & E.
