I moved from expecting to have to arrange a funeral before Christmas to having back a mother who could respond and communicate! For myself - I was treated with compassion, kindness and given simple, straightforward information, which I much appreciated, despite the fact that at the beginning the prognosis was so bleak. But I felt supported and it was lovely that as my mother’s condition improved the nurses genuinely shared my happiness.
