"Infection Control"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / General surgery

(as a carer),

My father is in a room the Rotary Ward at William Harvey hospital after having a op and skin graft.

I would like to complain about the bed side table which is not fit to be there and I have been told that it has been condemned! ! All formica has come away, the front edge is just exposed chipboard which can not be cleaned, and is sharp about an 1inch x 2foot.

Surly this should have been taken away and food given on a tray, to save risk to patient till you have the funds to replace?

Staff are aware but said that there are no funds. Please address ASP.

Thank you for raising your concerns regarding the bedside table. I will raise this with staff and ensure that they order a replacement, this is straightforward for ward staff to be able to do. I will ensure that the surgical matron is aware and actions the change.

I hope your father is making a full recovery.
