"Shoulder injury treatment"

About: Crawley Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics Crawley Hospital / Urgent treatment centre

(as the patient),

In November I arrived in A&E following an accident @ home which resulted in me breaking my collar bone.

This was confirmed by an xray.

I was given a sling to wear if in pain and told to come back for Fracture clinic, but in the meantime to keep as mobile as possible and follow an exercises sheet which the a&e nurse gave me.

The initial fracture clinic appointment confirmed I was wearing the complete wrong kind of sling and the injured part should have been completely immobile! ! So following more than 6-7 visits I am no further forward - apart from the constant extreme pain, I am totally frustrated and feel that this could have been avoided. There is now a possibility of me needing major surgery strictly due to the initial incorrect advice by A&E
