"Skin cancer and plastic surgery at NGH"

About: Northern General Hospital / Plastic surgery

(as a relative),

I was referred to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield by my GP as I had a basel cell carcinoma on my forehead. Within 10 days I had received an appointment with the consultant, Mr Miller and one week later I was operated on. The service was fantastic, the description of what was going to happen was good and I was always asked if I was okay with this, the information given throughout was good. Mr Miller and staff were brilliant. The only moan I have is that I attended dressing clinic and the nurse removed a stitch one week after the op that should have been in situ for 8 weeks, she stuck a steri strip on and said it would be okay, unfortunately it did not heal as well as it should have, ie slight scar.
