Anything else?
I had my first baby in the Rosie's MLBU in August 2012, shortly before the opening of the new wing (which I gather is even more fabulous than the old facilities). The midwives who attended me during labour and the birth gave care that exceeded my expectations at every level. I know it's partly down to luck that I got to follow my birth plan almost to the letter, but it's also down in no small part to the quality of the care I received, and the midwives' respect for my wishes. I felt extremely safe and well-supported throughout my labour, and the midwives dealt calmly with everything that happened - for instance, when my waters broke there was meconium present, but instead of sending me straight to the delivery unit the midwife monitored the baby's heartrate unobtrusively throughout the contractions, and I was able to give birth naturally there in the MLBU. I couldn't have hoped for better care and have nothing but praise for the people who helped me to have a safe and satisfying birth.
"Nothing but praise for the Rosie."
