"communication between anyone does not exist"

About: Bristol Eye Hospital

Anything else?

After my own GP delayed my referral to the Eye Hospital, it was only by my own intervention that I got a 1st appointment. Then the person who saw me failed to pass on my notes for further urgent appointment to Retina Dept.! The phone numbers, and I have used about 8 different ones, don't take calls, so getting through to actually speak to a person is a disgrace, because this is virtually impossible!! Finally got someone there to pass on my details, and after spending all afternoon today, I discover they are going to give me an appointment for end of March!!! And this is supposed to be for an urgent op.

I need this performing yesterday, but seems they don't care if I go blind. Still waiting for someone to ring me back to see if they can bring appointment forward.

Will report further later.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on NHS Choices. We are very sorry to hear about your experience of the Bristol Eye Hospital. We would like the opportunity to look into your situation further and request that you contact our Patient Support and Complaints Team so that we can do this (0117 342 3604 / pals@uhbristol.nhs.uk). We are aware that a number of patients have raised issues around being able to contact the Bristol Eye Hospital and so we are in the process of setting up a dedicated call-centre to alleviate this. Thank you again for taking the time to provide feedback and we hope to here directly from you soon.
