About: Tameside General Hospital

Anything else?

I attended a clinic and would like to compliment the consultant on his manner, care and ability to discuss my problems with me. I was impressed that he came out to greet each patient personally which instantly relieves worries you may have. i found him pleasant, well informed and he had a very caring manner. He communicated well and listened carefully . I think he deserves credit and praise for his welcoming approach and the interest he is able to show his patients. thank you very much to all the staff I met - you were a credit to the NHS and answered questions, helped me use your new self check in, and generally have a successful visit which ran smoothly - I was impressed ! I prefer to make my own judgements and not be swayed by adverse publicity - lots of people do - keep up the good work and don't loose heart - some of us appreciate the work you do ! remember people are quick to complain and slow to praise!

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
