"hospital from dark ages"

About: New Cross Hospital

Anything else?

I think some of the care I have received has been the worst I have had, I call for a nurse using the alarm button and it takes an hour to come to attend to me. I know they are under staffed at night but come on I only use those buttons when I really need to, My drip was being fed into tissue rather than my vein, can't even get a vein now as they are collapsed

Also being made to wait for gallbladder removal surgery, the infection I currently have is now causing problems for the surrounding organs, and I'm going to be discharged in a few days time for the whole process to start again, in agonising pain being rushed via ambulance what is the cost to the NHS for this to keep happening, the doctors, nurses, medication? All this because the consultant won't put further up her list.

Dear Scooby088,

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to tell us about your recent experiences with us at New Cross Hospital. We were really sorry to read that your care was not to the standard we expect to provide.

We have recognised that staffing during the night time is an issue for us to address and we are looking to improve these arrangements in the near future. We are also going to place an increased focus our response times to patient call buzzers through our patient feedback work.

We would really appreciate the opportunity to learn more about your particular experiences and if you would like to speak further with us about this please do contact me on 01902 695363 or via email to jameemery@nhs.net.
