Let down once again by The Royal London Hospital! I waited so long for radiofrequency ablation for chronic pain. I don't get one nights sleep, constantly in pain. It came to my attention after appointments were cancelled repeatidly with the Orthopaedic spine consultants that their service no longer existed. When I finaly I did get an appointment with a Locum Consultant he promptly referred me to what he said was a wonderful pain management team!!

Sorry but I feel the pain management at RLH is a disgrace.

I did get seen in March 2012 only to be given another facet joint injection I felt so relieved that after so long I was able to get sleep for 3 weeks approximately. Alas the pain returned once again with vengeance. A seven month follow up appointment was sent to me.... 2 weeks before this appointment date it was cancelled. I was sent one for May 2013. A wait of 14 months.

I contacted the Chief Executives officer who resolved a previous issue. I was sent an appointment to see a Locum consultant at Barts on the 8th October 2012. The Consultant listened and said he would put my name on the waiting list for radiofrequency ablation treatment.

Today 19th February 2013 I attended the RLH DSU for treatment with great hope that some of my pain may be relieved and I woud get some rest.

Arriving at 11am it wasn't until approximately 4.30 pm that a nurse informed me the procedure was cancelled because there wasn't equipment and radiographer available for the procedure!

Some one must be accountable. This is a disgrace. It isn't the first time.

I received a phone call on a Saturday night several weeks ago asking if I could attend today Someone must be responsible for organising lists and what is required for specific procedures.
