Anything else?
Attended on sunday evening with fractured humerus. Was quickly directed by triage to minor injuries, and despite there being quite a number of people there, I was seen within the hour. Both the nursing and X ray staff were very courteous and considerate. I was in a lot of pain, and the nurse was especially kind and gentle, and went to great lengths to avoid causing me additional pain. i would like to pass on my sincere thanks for this - at a time when nurses are under fire for this aspect of their work I can only say that she could not have been more caring. I am sorry I cannot recall her name to send personal thanks, and hope this will be passed on. I had sustained the injury in France and although the medical services there were very efficient, the sense of being cared for was much better in the RVI.
One suggestion - in France the doctor told me exactly when the x-ray was about to be taken, and when he had done it, so I did not have to hold my position for more than a few seconds. Here, no indication was given, so I had to make a huge effort to stay still for longer than was probably necessary. Could the radiographer perhaps adopt a similar approach?
