"If I go for an X-Ray on my Knee, it's because I've..."

About: Tameside General Hospital

Anything else?

I've developed a problem with my knee which means it keeps clicking and locking up. When this happens it's very sore.

My GP sent me to Tameside General for an X-Ray.

What would have been absolutely fantastic would have been if the nurse performing the X-Ray warned me in advance of violently bending my knee which caused me agony.

Just maybe, people go for X-Rays becasue they have hurt themselves so why not ask them or warn the first the preferebly get the patient to move their injured limb into position for the X-Ray so you don't have to just violently yank their sore/infured limbs into posiiton without warning.

Just a thought !!

NB, Why is X-Ray not listed as department ??

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience on the Patient Opinion website. I am sorry that our communication with you was less than optimal.

I will ensure the Radiology Department Manager is made aware of your comments and discusses this with the team.

Thank you again for posting on the Patient Opinion website and for choosing TGH as your hospital of choice.

Kind regards

John Goodenough

Director of Nursing

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
