This hospital moves u to wards that aren't for your illnesses and then the medical drs are too far away to walk to you ,they leave u without regular meds , one lderly patient was left with no knickers on for 3 hrs ..poor lady had no dignity ..another lady who wasn't able to feed herself meals was left to go cold

Quotes from 2 different nurses I am sorry but I have a poorly patient to see . I was asking why I still hadn't had my symbicort inhaler from pharmacy after 36 hrs when I first requested

Another nurse I have 101 jobs to do and that isn't on my list when I asked to beep a medical dr to come see me as I hadn't seen a dr for 6 days

These staff are short staffed and stressed

We are very concerned to read this and have looked into your concerns with the ward managers involved during your admission. The Matron for Medicine at Doncaster Royal Infirmary will be in touch with you to discuss your concerns in more detail. The Matrons for Medicine and Orthopaedics have been asked to discuss your concerns within their teams to emphasise that all patient care should be delivered with compassion and that patients' dignity needs to be respected at all times.

We're currently reviewing our bed capacity to ensure we have the right number of specialty beds in the right places and to reduce the number of ward-to-ward transfers patients experience. We have been exceptionally busy this winter with very high numbers of seriously-ill patients needing admission to the hospital. Unfortunately, when demand for specific specialty beds is high then patients who are felt to be stable may be transferred to a different specialty area, to enable the rapid management of emergency admissions.

We appreciate, though, that this is less than ideal for those patients who are moved and we've been introducing additional ward rounds at weekends by our consultants to ensure that all patients selected for transfer to another ward have appropriate medical care. Additionally, a high standard of nursing care should be delivered to all our patients regardless of which ward area they have been transferred to. We are really sorry to hear that you did not experience this on every ward during your admission.
