Following referral from the GP about a possible stroke I went to see a specialist at North Tyneside hospital. After the results I was handed over to a cancer specialist at the hospital.
I was assessed and referred for Chemotherapy.
Everything has been excellent. The consultant was very efficient.
Unfortunately the chemotherapy did not result as effectively as it was hoped, and shortly thereafter I was put on steroids which worked extremely well. They gave me my appetite back and also my desire to live.
Towards the end of 2012 I had to return to the chemotherapy specialist and after a lengthy discussion it was decided to put me on a treatment in involving taking regular tablets, which I have started on. I am returning for a review next week.
The service at the hospital throughout has been excellent.
