"our son's treatment for a cut finger"

About: Derriford Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

Our son was treated at Derriford A&E department on the evening of sunday 30th December. He is 15. He had fallen and cut his finger on a broken bottle. The service he received was brilliant - he was stitched and advised he may have nerve damage. On monday 31st December I received a phonecall from Derriford Plym Centre advising out son would need surgery on his finger to repair the nerve damage and check that the tendons were OK. He had surgery that afternoon and everything was explained to him and us. We are so impressed with all the communication and service received, thank you.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your comments on Patient Opinion. It was a pleasure to share your comments with the teams involved in your son's care as I know just how much staff value feedback. It was particularly pleasing to note the care taken over communication between departments and with your family and that everything was explained to you.

Many thanks for contacting us via the website.

Best wishes

Mary
