Anything else?
I have visited the Lister several times for both myself and my husband. Between us we have been to A and E, dressings clinics, orthopaedic ward and blood tests (pathology).
I would firstly like to congratulate the A and E staff on their professionalism. We had to wait around 2 hours each time which is perfectly acceptable with a minor injury (a 2nd degree scald on my arm and a fractured radius for my husband) and I was extremely impressed by the A and E doctors attitude and compentence. The triage nurse both times was also very kind. My only critism would be the lack of seating - the comments suggest this has been improved however, when I was in A and E my husband has to stand for around 1 hours before a seat became available.
The dressings clinic is extremely busy and the staff therefore have very little time with the patients which can make their manner appear brusque however I was overall impressed with the efficiency.
The orthopaedic ward was amazing - the staff were extremely friendly and understanding. The only negative outcome was my husband was forced to go to the QEII without any explenation. We live in Great Ashby and he had his surgery in the Lister so we could not understand this. As it was surgery to his wrist he was obviously unable to drive and therefore had to get a combination of buses and trains which seems ridiculous given we live about 30 mins walk from the Lister.
It is extremely refreshing to have blood testing open on a Saturday - it is extremely annoying as a full time worker when all clinics appear to only be open throughout the week. I understand this when it is a specialist clinic and there may only be experienced staff available at set times however for many clinics this is not the case. The phlebotamists are extremely friendly and professional despite how busy they are!
Overall. I have no issues with the Lister and would definately no hesitate to go back.
"Excellent Care"
