The was a change in consultants twice but in general the service was good until urodiynamics showed that surgery was the only option left. The was no explanation of test results the nurse left the room and when she came back presented me with turps surgery information leaflet, When i asked what other options i had i was told that turps was the only procedure at this hospital.Because of pre existing medical conditions and the multitude of side effects turps was not an option, but when I asked if they could find out if it was possible to have a new procedure [urolift] at another hospital and i did not mind travelling I was told that turps was the gold standard and come back when i changed my mind.seems NHS choice is a paper exercise only and when it comes down to it Hobson rules. [ I think turps was around in his day]
