About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

Anything else?

I felt very unwell in the early hours of Sunday morning. My wife phoned NHS Direct who advised that I should probably go to A&E. My wife and I drove to Royal Sussex County A&E at around 3am. After around 4 hours (which was because they were very short staffed and busy, and I was having several tests performed) I got moved to the Cardiac Ward (6A) where I had further tests and given breakfast!!

On Tuesday afternoon around 4PM I was taken to theater to have a pacemaker fitted, and I arrived back home yesterday lunchtime (Thursday).

All in all, I am very pleased and impressed with the speed and efficiency with which I was seen and treated, all staff were marvelous despite being very busy. Thank you!!

Thank you very much for your very kind comments regarding the Emergency Department and Cardiology teams. It is with great pleasure that I have passed these on to the staff involved and I know that your words will mean a great deal to them. I do hope that you are now recovering well at home.
