"Antenatal care."

About: Warwick Hospital

Anything else?

I have been visiting the Antenatal department, I never had my 20 weeks scan, the Mid-Wife sent the request to the hospital team for this scan, the hospital team advised that they hadn't receive any request.

I had arranged this privately before seeing the mid wife from Warwick hospital and it was a good thing I had as the hospital team had not booked me in for the scan when originally requested, and then when the team finally contacted me I was outside the allowed time for the scan.

My mid-wife had completed a form asking for all blood tests to be carried out but the hospital didn't carry out all of the tests requested at the same time and that meant that I had to go back again for the other tests to be completed which I feel is a waste of time and money when they could have done it all in one go.

I had my 28 week scan and that was fine, however I did have a private scan carried out as well and comparing both the NHS and private scan they do appear to have discrepancies relating to the growth of my baby, so the consultant has asked for a 32 week scan to check the growth of my baby.

Due to the Christmas and New Year holiday period my appointments are usually on a Tuesday which as a public holiday meant I wasn't able to see the mid wife, the mid wife asked me to attend the following week and as she was not available they offered a cover mid wife, this person didn't turn up.

GP surgery eventually got hold of the Antenatal team and was advised that there was no cover. The team at the surgery did offer an alternative for myself and other women waiting for the cover mid wife, this was to attend the Hospital of St Cross the next day to see a mid wife in the Antenatal department.

I must say that the treatment that the mid wife, consultant and the sonography have given me has been exception and I can not fault them.
