I recently attended a sleep clinic appointment at Outpatients. I had to wait over one hour of my appointment time and the consulatant was very bad. Their comunication was very rude and was just rushing me to get me out of the door. I had many questions to ask of my recently diagnosed issues but they were just rushing and giving one word answers. This doctor needs to be taught some manners and customer service skill.

Dear Mr Pattni,

Firstly, we would like to offer our apologies regarding the lack of communication that you received recently regarding your newly diagnosed condition, this was not the Consultants intention. We also offer our sincere apologies for the wait; although frustrating, it's sometimes unavoidable if patients with earlier appointments over-run.

The operational manager for the Pain & Sleep Services tried to contact you yesterday afternoon to discuss the date of your follow up appointment, however I don't think she managed to get hold of you, but will continue to try again.

The Pain & Sleep Service also offer drop-in sessions on Monday & Friday afternoons each week from 14:00 - 15:30 and also has a patient telephone helpline 0116 258 8262, open Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 16:00 for patients who are having difficulty with managing their condition.

You should receive further information about the offer of an earlier appointment and these services in the post if the service manager does not manage to get through to you on the phone.
