Anything else?
I have contacted the physiotherapy department several times in the last few years by phoning physio direct. Recently I've had a back problem that has been so acute I'm having difficulty working. The physio direct folks contacted me promptly, and continued to make an effort to get in touch with me when I wasn't it. They listened to the details of my problem and offered me an appointment within a week as it was seriously affecting my ability to do my job. They also recommended special exercises and pain control in the meantime.
The physiotherapist who saw me was friendly and listened carefully to my viewpoint about my injury and pain. She offered great reassurance about the extent of my injury, confirming that I did not need to see a doctor. She examined my back in order to make a diagnosis and then taught me some gentle exercises to help it to get better and more mobile.
When I left I was given a printed handout with diagrams and explanations about the exercises I need to do. I was also reassured that I could contact the department again if my situation doesn't improve.
It was great to know I could completely by-pass having to get a GP referral on 2 of the 3 occasions I've needed physio advice in the last few years.
By the way - you should add Therapy Department, Oncology and Radiology to your list below because they aren't options but lots of people use them and might want to review.
