(as the patient),

In 2008 I went Into labour and suffered complications that lead to me needing an emergency c-section.

The trust has decided to close the consultant led services and move it 90 miles away from Barrow to Lancaster. I would not have made it to Lancaster in the back of an ambulance therefore it's a great concern that they are closing the ward instead of rectifying the problems.

I am due to have another baby in 2 days and have to make the 90 mile journey to Lancaster, having a baby is stressful enough without this added pressure.

I am disgusted in way I have been mistreated and informed.

This was announced as a temporary measure due to staffing issues, to ensure the dafety of babies and mothers. Thankfulkly it was not needed and the temporary tra nsfer did not take place.
