"My mother and I need help"

About: Adult mental health (Lewisham) Lewisham

(as the patient),

My keyworker went off sick several months ago, in summer 2012 and they have not been replaced with anyone suitable for me. I've been left without any help and in a very bad way. They were also seeing my mother, who I care for at the same time, she also has been left without any help and is in a real depressed state. She recently underwent cancer treatment and is suffering anxiety and severe depression.

Without my help, my mum gets no help from lewisham social services or any other organisation. Her gp is causing her distress and she has been cut down on her medication which she has been taking for over ten years, and the previous GP gave to her on repeat prescription every month with no problems, but when she moved to this area, she had to change her GP has he wouldn't pay her a home visit.

Everytime I go to collect her medication I feel I am being treated like dirt, and it's getting to the stage that I've had enough of this.

My mother and myself are getting no help at all, and I feel helpless as to what to do.

I can't keep changing her GP and I am in a state of crisis. What is even worse is the lack of help and support from the staff at Speedwell, we feel they have totally ignored us and continue to do so, as do Lewisham Social services, which won't even give me a carers assessment.

My mother ran out of medication on Friday, she was not due for her tablets until Monday. I went to the GP to ask if she could have four to last her till Monday and was refused and told to go away.

I later called a night doctor who said the tablets would be sent to an all night chemist, when I got there there was nothing sent to them.

I later called for a home visit for my mother and was told a doctor will visit her, the doctor did visit at 5. 30am early hours, and they said it was disgusting how we were being treated. The doctor gave her four tablets which I got out later on in the morning.

Now I am waiting to go to her GPs to get her 28 tablets which is due, if the GPs refuse her this, she will be in a terrible state and will need to go to hospital.

This is a nightmare and I can't cope seeing my mother in this distress all the time, I am at my wits end.

We need support and help. I can't think of a way out of this crisis.

This is very urgent case and needs addressing asap.
