I was lucky enough to be refered to one of the consultants. I have been most impressed by the treatment and care I have received from them.
He is a great Consultant, he doesnt make you feel rushed during consultations even though he is obviously busy. He explains everything fully and makes you feel involved in the decisions about your care.
Most importantly he listens to what you have to say and you feel like you can ask him questions unlike some Doctors and Consultants.
This consultant treats you like a person not a number and I feel lucky to have had him in charge of my treatment. My operation went exactly to plan and my life has improved for the better from having it.
My stay on ward 32 was very comfortable and I was well looked after. All the staff were friendly and polite.
The porter was lovely and and had a chat and joke as he took me to theatre which was nice as I was a bit nervous. The theatre staff were nice and made you feel at ease and relaxed.
I was treated with dignity and respect throughout by every member of staff.
In my opinion the ward seemed understaffed day and night but the staff that were there worked very hard to look after all the patients. There were just not enough staff and they were overstretched but they did a marvelous job of taking care of us all.
The bay I was on was exceptionly clean thanks to the hard working lady who came and cleaned. She took genuine pride in her work and my visitors remarked on how clean it was.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff involved in my care and to the consultant. I hope I never have to have another operation but if I did, I would be begging my GP to refer me to the same consultant !
