For the most part, the clinical staff working in this hospital are polite and caring. As an organisation, Pennine Acute Trust is an exceptionally poor trust. My comments about this occasion relate to one incident but I find the service provided by this Trust to be routinely poor. We visited with my niece to have an important test. She is a baby and had to be starved because she was to receive IV sedation. When we arrived at the children's unit it was closed and padlocked! No one had contacted us to cancel or postpone the appointment. We're still waiting to hear. I suspect that unless we create a fuss we'll be waiting ad infinitum. Meanwhile a baby's health remains in jeopardy.
