"Shocking treatment for someone with a LD"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Anything else?

Severly disable daughter admitted via A&E.Put to sleep sent for a scan then no bed! Eventually ended up on Spinal unit when she had a gastro problem. Left there & forgot about until we complained. No staff to look after her so had to stay at hospital for 5 days without leaving until they could find someone to look after her over night even though they had done a assessment that she needs 1 to 1 care. Nursing staff lovely but few & far between finding a doctor is another matter & on a weekend forget it! Disgusting treatment for someone with learning disabilities & the staff seem to think its perfectly Ok to try to put in a canula with 12 times in one day, distraught is not the word.

Found left on her own in a room in a filthy bed screaming having been assured staff would look after her.Pressed bell & it took 10 minutes for anyone even to look through the door.

Still waiting having made complaints last September to PALS. Guess what no responce so far, but hay its only been 4 months!

The Trust understanding is that these concerns are being addressed on an ongoing basis by the appropriate Matron and specialist nursing colleagues and that liaison with the family has, in fact, taken place.
