"Mixed maternity care at southern general!"

About: Southern General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

HI I gave birth last via c-section after failed to progress during induction.

First of all I would like to say the induction ward staff and labour ward staff are absolutely great shame can't say the same for the postnatal ward staff.

ive was in hospital for one week and 3 days and since coming home ive got worse. I found out I have got infection, despite telling midwives at hospital numerous times about my symptoms they have brushed me off. Im really angry because c section already ha a long recovery time, the infection hasn't made it any easier!

I would not go back to that hospital a the after birth experience was poor and staff I came into contact with in the postnatal were not helpful and i felt they didn't bother.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your feedback.

I am sorry that this posting was not acknowledged at the time, we had a break in our use of Patient Opinion, but we have now resumed doing so, and I thought it was still important to acknowledge your posting.

You raised a number of issues that are of concern and I have passed your comments on to the manager responsible for these services to share your experience with local staff.

I am sorry that this overshadowed an otherwise postive experience.

Paul
