I went to a mass screening of men at the victoria hotel in Newport Shropshire, organised by the lions to test for prostate cancer. This resulted in me having a letter from Mr D C Baxter-smith, Consultant of the urology team giving the result of my blood test. This showed a prostate specific antigen level of 13. 8. I went to see my GP who sent me to the urology clinic. I have to add that I have no classic symptoms of prostate cancer. By rectal examination both my GP and the consultant Mr S Ghiblawi said that it was swollen on the left side.
