"Neurosurgery and physioherapy"

About: Royal Free Hospital

Anything else?

I have been coming for treatment at Royal free on and off for 5 years and have little to complain about.I had surgery on my back for the 2nd time in September 2012. I would like to say thank you especially to the recovery nurses who provided care of the highest standard. Everyone on the ward was great ,the housekeeper even came back with a coffee for me when I missed the round having physio, that I think that shows real care.

I want to save my highest praise for the physiotherapy department, inculding the reception staff who work so hard, taking calls and dealing with patients- really professional. I have received such wonderful treatment and care in this department over the past 3 months, I am sure without them'I would never have got back to the point when I can go back to work.I have had lots of physio over the years but Royal Freee is the best..My thanks especially to my physiotherapist.

I do have some issues with the appointments service, however.I should be seeing my. Consultant in February but got an appointment for September, the outpatient appointment staff were very abrupt and unhelpful, then having been told to wait for a cancelation,I phoned to check progress and was told not to keep ringing !!, the guys attitude was disgrace..I then phone the secretary who said she would come back to me and 3 weeks later still hasn,t.I have contacted PALS now and they are dealng wit it.

This is the 2nd time I have had problems with outpatients, a coding error meant I was sent to the wrong.consultant.I really think the appointment system could be better, and when it goes wrong they should resolve the probelm at source not palm the patient off.

I want to finish on a postive note - Thank you to the surgeon and her team ,to recovery and especially to the wonderful Physio department.I would definately recommend Royal Free based on my experience of it.
