"Endoscopy unit"

About: Frenchay Hospital

Anything else?

I attended Frenchay Endoscopy Unit on Friday 18 January for the Endoscopy procedure as part of the Bowel Screening Programme. I was very impressed with the way I was greeted on a very cold and snowy day, The nursing staff were efficient and treated me with utmost courtesy and made me feel at ease. The surgeon who performed the procedure was courteous and made me feel at ease.

Throughout the process he explained what was happening and showed me the polyp - on screen of course - that he removed.

A splendid department

Dear Alan – I apologise for not being able to respond to your comments until now; unfortunately we were experiencing some technical problems.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your positive experience of the Endoscopy Unit at Frenchay. We do receive many, more compliments than complaints about all the North Bristol Trust services and your comments support this.

I am please that you found the whole service reassuring and efficient and I hope that this gives other patients confidence about what can be an uncomfortable procedure.

Kind regards – Steve Sykes
