I had a hysterectomy in September 2012. The operation was carried out at short notice by a surgeon who did a great job. I had no complications and I am very grateful to him and his team. I would also like to say that his secretary was always helpful and friendly when I rang and made the process easier for me. The nurses on the ward were good but unfortunately I did not think the ward was very nice. It was tired and felt dirty. It feels bad to complain about these things when I had good quality surgery, which is after all the main thing, however the environment is also important.
