"Onward referral from podiatry to orthopaedics"

About: Cannock Chase Hospital

Anything else?

I brought my daughter to the podiatry department in may 2012, the female podiatrist said my daughter needed to be referred to orthopaedics. After contacting my doctors in September to find out what was happening they did not have any idea what I was talking about. I phoned the podiatry department who said that it was on my daughters records that she needed to be referred to orthopaedics but no letter had been sent, it took me phoning another two times and my doctors phoning for them to finally send a letter back to my doctors telling them to refer my daughter which they eventually received in October. I think this is disgraceful, and not only this we went to the orthopaedic hospital in Oswestry last week and it says on the letter my daughter had X-rays which she never did. And we have now been told her bones in her foot are fused together so she has been in pain for the last 8 months because they couldn't be bothered to send a letter.

I am sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied when accessing the podiatry department at Cannock Hospital. I apologise for the fact that your experience was poor.

I would like the opportunity to discuss your experiences more fully and to share your feedback to the podiatry team who, allthough based in the hospital, are managed by the community.

I would appreciate it if you would be willing to contact me on 01785 887693

Kind Regards

Angela Grocott
