Anything else?
Sept 2012 had second child at worcs by ecs: very positive experience, lovely delivery team. Post natal a mixed bag. Most midwives absolutely lovely, especially ward manager and midwife. But staff didn't read my records from first birth or my birth plan, which detailed previous pnd brought on by difficult birth and stress of hospitals. Ended up having to stay longer than planned due to baby two having minor medical condition- no one kept me informed, staff were overstretched and when stress caused pnd to return they were mystified as to cause! Due to pnd I was being a bit manic at times: crying a lot etc. And some staff clearly didn't care. Was made to feel I was fussing over nothing at times, plus while some midwives were very sportive re breastfeeding, others were less so- one midwife, when I was tearful and worn out after breast feeding for four hours straight at night, said I clearly didn't want to breastfeed enough! Final straw was on penultimate night of 5 night stay when a midwife told me in the morning that a colleague had seen me shaking my baby during the night: this was absolutely untrue and has caused me untold distress since.
"post natal: depends who you get!"
