I was admitted to ward 5 Stroke unit within approx 3 hours of first contact with GP deputising service. I was assessed by A&E within 30 mins of arriving at Airedale by ambulance, saw Stroke consultant after an MRI scan within 2 hours. Kept overnight under observation, I was then seen by another Stroke Consultant before 9.00am, then by specilast nurse and Occ. Therapist before lunch. in the afternnon i had an echo scan and a carotid doppler test. I was dischaged same day with medication and loads of advice and information.

What a brilliant example of our treasured national health service!. Thanks to staff from ambulance, A&E, ward 5 and all others involved in my care
